The children enjoyed a truly special visit to Westlands Care Home in Rugby, this week. It was a gentle, joyful experience that brought together two generations in a way that felt natural and meaningful.
The residents welcomed the children with warmth and enthusiasm, creating an atmosphere that immediately put everyone at ease.
Shared moments of connection
There was a lovely sense of connection throughout the visit. The children shared their excitement over colourful balloons, and together we spent time singing familiar nursery rhymes.

These simple, shared activities created moments of calm, happiness, and genuine interaction — the kind of experiences that stay with children and help them build confidence in new environments.
Proud moments
The children represented the nursery beautifully. They were calm, respectful, and engaged throughout the visit, which was noticed and appreciated by the care home team.
We were delighted to be invited back, which reflects just how positive the experience was for everyone involved.
Why these experiences matter
Visits like this are an important part of how we support children’s development. They help children to:
- feel comfortable in the wider community
- build confidence in new social settings
- develop empathy and awareness of others
- experience meaningful, real-world connections
A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Westlands Care Home for making us feel so welcome. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
